Temp to Perm Assembly Technician – Surface Mount Technology

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established electronics manufacturing business based in Beeston. Due to continued growth and increased production demands, our client is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join their busy production team.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must have experience of operating Siemens or Fuji assembly machines within an electronics manufacturing environment. Working across double day and night shifts, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient production of PCB assemblies while maintaining high quality standards.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience operating Siemens or Fuji SMT assembly machines is essential
  • Experience within PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing environments required
  • Knowledge of SMT production processes and component handling
  • Understanding of ESD-controlled environments and MSL component requirements advantageous
  • Ability to identify production issues and escalate where necessary
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Flexible approach to working rotating day and night shifts
  • Experience using ERP systems such as BaaN would be beneficial
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Siemens or Fuji Surface Mount assembly machines to manufacture PCB boards
  • Prepare production lines and ensure correct machine programs and hardware are installed, interpreting and following job information
  • Monitor production processes, identifying and reporting excessive scrap or reject levels
  • Replenish and splice component reels as required to maintain production flow
  • Conduct visual inspections of assembled boards prior to reflow processing
  • Manage setup centre activities and maintain a consistent flow of boards through production
  • Complete production reporting, efficiency data entry and backflushing activities using BaaN
  • Handle MSL components in accordance with company procedures, adhering to 5S principles
  • Participate in shift handovers and communicate with relevant production information to colleagues
  • Comply with all Health & Safety requirements within an ESD-controlled environment
