Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be working with an award-winning Consultancy who boast years of delivering high class Civil Engineering projects nationwide. Due to continued growth and ongoing projects in the East Midlands, our client is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Derby based project team.  

In return, you will receive a generous starting salary between £50,000 and £65,000, depending on experience. Other benefits include access to Healthcare cash plan, pension plan, long service awards, flexible working and financial support towards professional development qualifications. 

Skills & Experience
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar field 
  • Demonstrable AutoCAD experience, along with use of Civil3D, PDS, InfoDrainage and MicroDrainage 
  • Ability to think outside the box to solve complex problems 
  • Well versed with relevant design and Health & Safety standards within the Construction sector 
  • First class communication skills, both to internal and external stakeholders  
  • Holder of ICE Chartership or working towards  
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design and drafting of SuDS schemes, private externals work, Section 38 and Section 104 works for adoption 
  • Design and drafting of civil engineering works across sectors including residential, industrial, commercial and more 
  • Perform detailed design drawings across a range of projects from multi-storey structures to small housing schemes and range in construction value from £250,000 to £30M 
  • Undertaking projects in line with BIM Level 2  
  • Consulting frequently with clients to provide project updates, technical supports and resolve ongoing problems  
  • Undertake detailed designs using MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil3D and PDS industry standard software with final arrangement drawings produced in AutoCAD 
  • Stand in for Site Team Leader regarding the planning, organisation and delegation of tasks, people and resources to ensure timely delivery of projects whilst ensuring they adhere to industry design standards
