Operations Field Manager – Rail

Overview

Express Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a growing and highly reputable organisation within the rail sector who are seeking an experienced Operations Field Manager to oversee multi-site operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader to take ownership of field-based operations across multiple projects, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient and compliant with industry standards. You will play a key role in driving performance, managing teams, and maintaining high standards across all operational activity.

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience within a field management or supervisory role in the rail industry
  • Strong understanding of rail safety standards and compliance (e.g. NR/L2, ROGS)
  • Experience managing multiple sites and teams simultaneously
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations across multiple rail sites and projects
  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with safety regulations, project timelines and company standards
  • Oversee workforce planning, including labour, plant and equipment allocation
  • Monitor performance against KPIs, identifying risks and implementing improvements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders
