Mechanical Fitter

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established engineering solutions specialist with the recruitment of a Mechanical Fitter on a full-time, permanent basis, working across the Thames Valley region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and fault-finding of a variety of mechanical equipment including motors, gearboxes, bearings, and steel support systems. The role will involve working across multiple sites and supporting additional disciplines on-site where required, including electrical and civil engineering teams.

There is an hourly rate on offer of c£20 plus overtime and a van, working across areas including Reading, Guildford, Slough, and Basingstoke working Monday – Friday 7am-3pm.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within a similar Mechanical Fitter role
  • Mechanical apprenticeship or Level 3 mechanical qualification as a minimum
  • Current Confined Space certification
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of mechanical installation and maintenance practices
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Carry out mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair duties across a variety of sites
  • Install and maintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, and associated mechanical equipment
  • Fit and install steel support systems and structures
  • Conduct fault-finding and remedial work on mechanical systems
  • Support Electrical and Civil Engineering teams when required on-site
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all CPP/RAMS and Safe Systems of Work
