Engineering Project Officer

Overview

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our engineering client, a well-established and highly respected organisation throughout the UK and Europe. They are seeking an experienced Project Officer to drive, deliver and coordinate engineering operations, ensuring timely delivery and execution of multiple projects, whilst helping to align wider strategic objectives. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and highly organised project professional, who demonstrates strong efficiency and people communication skills and who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment. 

In return, you will receive a competitive starting salary of up to £35,000, depending on experience. 

Skills & Experience
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment  
  • Demonstrable project management or planning experience, with knowledge and understanding of methodologies and best practices  
  • Prince 2 certified desirable but not essential  
  • Experience working across supply chain, logistics, sales and service operations  
  • Proven capability in scheduling and coordinating field work for Service & Installation Engineers  
  • Confident managing suppliers and vendors and being able to relay constructive feedback on their services  
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills  
  • Full UK driving license preferred
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Liaise frequently with customers to align specification requirements and provide regular progress updates  
  • Deal with suppliers and logistics providers, arranging delivery dates on behalf of customers and chasing up late deliveries and incorrect delivered items  
  • Consulting regularly with Field Service and Workshop Engineers, scheduling service, maintenance and repair tasks on customer sites, whilst ensuring customers are kept up to date with the schedule 
  • Liaise with preferred suppliers and vendors to enquire about the stock availability of engineering parts and bespoke components 
  • Document project progress reports on the system, ensuring visibility for senior management changes and communicating in person any key changes or issues  
  • Enquire about the availability of Engineer subcontractors, outlining their availability for urgent installation and repair jobs, whilst ensuring their services align with budgets  
  • Collaborate with Technical Sales Manager and Service Manager to drive continuous improvement throughout internal operations to maintain/enhance customer service satisfaction levels  
  • Act as key point of escalation for transport and logistics providers, whilst providing efficient solutions to geographical accessibility issues
