Electronic Product Development Technician

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with an innovative and rapidly expanding engineering business who are looking to recruit an Electronics Test Technician to join their specialist technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for electronics and fault-finding to join a company at the forefront of its industry. Working within a modern technical environment, you'll play a key role in diagnosing, testing and repairing sophisticated electronic control systems, helping to improve product performance and reliability. In return, you'll benefit from a competitive salary of up to c£36,000 DOE, a supportive and collaborative team environment, regular working hours of Monday-Friday, 6:30am-2:30pm, and genuine opportunities to develop your technical expertise with a growing organisation.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience diagnosing and repairing electronic components at PCB level, ideally within automotive, manufacturing or electronics environments
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
  • Strong fault-finding and analytical skills with a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately within a technical environment
  • A genuine interest in electronics, embedded systems or control technologies with a desire to continually develop your skills
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, test and repair electronic control units and PCB assemblies, identifying faults down to component level
  • Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings and diagnostic data to accurately assess electronic systems
  • Carry out structured testing and root cause analysis to identify recurring faults and recommend long-term solutions
  • Produce clear and accurate technical reports, documenting repair methods, findings and recommendations
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing technical knowledge and helping develop internal testing processes
