When You Wish Upon a Star is a Nottingham based children's charity dedicated to creating magical, life-changing experiences for children living with life-threatening and terminal illnesses.
Their work goes beyond a single experience. Each wish child can access all three of their services within two years of their first experience, ensuring ongoing support and meaningful moments for the whole family. A wish is a deeply personal experience, designed around the individual child's interests, dreams and needs. From meeting a hero to visiting a dream destination, each one is carefully created in partnership with the family to ensure it is meaningful, memorable and truly magical.
These are children going through something no child should have to face, and this charity shows up for them and their families with compassion, creativity and real purpose.
Every penny raised at this tournament goes directly towards granting one child's wish in full. The whole thing, funded by a room full of people who turned up, laced their boots up, and played football. That is what this day is about.

Express Recruitment's charity football tournament returns on Friday 24th July at Carlton Football Centre, Nottingham.
Last year was a brilliant day. Good football, good people and a lot of money raised for a cause that deserved every penny. We also knew there were things we could improve, so we listened to the feedback and made changes for this year.
The big one is referees. Actual referees, with a proper unified ruleset. Those of you who were there last year will know why that matters.
The format is 6-a-side but bring as many players as you like. Nobody should be running themselves into the ground.
We also have some seriously good prizes lined up this year. Full details are coming on social media soon but trust us, they are worth entering for.
Kick off is at 4:30pm and we finish at 7:30pm. Come for the football, stay for the good cause.

What are we raising money for?

What is the format?
6-a-side, but you are welcome to bring up to 8 players so nobody has to play every minute. Ringers are absolutely welcome.
Are there prizes?
Yes, and they are worth showing up for. Full details dropping on social media soon.
Can any business enter?
Absolutely. This is open to any business that wants to get involved. Get a team together and sign up.
